The Challenge

Fundación Telefónica and Obra Social La Caixa asked us to design a digital space that would enable them to scale their current caregivers’ training program by turning it into a digital platform.

The Solution

Cuida is the first platform for caregivers of people with advanced diseases that allows quick and easy access to knowledge and support, relevant to each caregiver needs. It’s backed up with a community of experts and volunteers.

The Approach

/ EMPATHISING WITH CONSUMERS

We had 1 to 1 in-depth conversations and observed caregivers and volunteers with different histories and personal situations. This helped us identify key insights and design principles to start defining the ideal user experience for caregivers in need.

/ DESIGNING COMMUNITY OF CAREGIVERS AND EXPERTS

We found that the digital format allowed caregivers to freely express themselves with others in the same situation. At the same time, the content could be adapted to different personal needs and could be backed-up with expert’s opinions relevant to the users.

/ DESIGNING AN IMPLEMENTATION ROADMAP

We delivered a final product implementation roadmap, prioritizing the short-, mid-, and long-term efforts and activities. We defined specific roles and assigned a clear ownership to holders of each of the tasks in order to align teams and make the vision happen.

Impact

The two main social foundations of Spain intend to launch Cuida in 2020 to multiply the social intervention x10, thus expanding from 30,000 impacted families to 300,000.
